Bagels are one of the most traditional American food, and one of the hardest to find abroad. I have eaten them in London but in Sicily they are nowhere to be found. Again, as I always say, it's something you have to learn to make at home. It's really not so difficult actually. Time consuming yes, but not that hard to make. Just remember to boil them before putting them in the oven.
Some of you may not know that there is a Russian song about bagels, the title is BUBLYCHKI. A very cute song.
