HOW TO INCREASE TRAFFIC TO YOUR PAGE, WEBSITE OR CHANNEL

How to Increase Traffic to your Site….the Right Way

Taking care of business is not what it used to be in Elvis’ time, today it no longer means looking after your ‘‘physical’’ shop or company only. It means running your online presence as well.

It’s unthinkable for a business nowadays not to have a website or not being present on the social media. A business cannot afford to be offline only unless it wants to remain behind. To grow, it must have a strong presence online. It’s hard enough to have a presence online but to have a strong one is, if not impossible, then extremely difficult and time consuming.

This can be easily solved if the business is established and well off financially. All you have to do is hire a SEO expert or SEO agency and let them do all the dirty work. I say dirty because some of the ways utilized by these agencies or individual experts use to be what is called in jargon ‘‘black hat’’ SEO (in simple terms, it means buying links from unreliable websites).

Not all SEO experts do it of course, that’s because Google’s Penguin now keeps its eyes wide open and if it catches fishy practices, that’s it. The business will be blacklisted and lose its reputation. To avoid this risk, better stay away from unscrupulous SEO companies, those who promise you instant rankings and an enormous amount of visitors in no time. It’s better to look around and find honest and trustworthy SEOs, who will give you a good return for your investment.

Yes, to get a strong presence, you need to invest money, a good amount of money. If, as I mentioned earlier, a company is well off, then investing in a SEO agency is no problem. What if you’re a small company or start-up with little or no money to invest? You barely managed to collect enough money to have a professional website built for your business and you are now wondering how you can promote it without spending more money. Here is how: DIY!

I am not suggesting that SEO experts are useless or unnecessary. They are experts and as such they can surely get traffic and ranking, but...they are extremely expensive. They are not volunteers who will work for free. So if you don’t have money to pay them, search online and learn the basics about SEO. There is lots of material out there, from simple to complicated, and even for dummies. You’ll find that SEO is not so horrifying as sounds. The most important thing you need to remember is that CONTENT is indispensable to drive traffic to your site. You need to write content that is useful, original and interesting enough to make your visitors come back for more. The more your content is outstanding, the more shares and likes it will get. The power of content should not be underestimated.

Content is the most powerful and effective way of getting traffic to your page. However, don’t just limit yourself to writing. Go around and leave likes and comments, this way you will be seen and attract others to your page. It’s a kind of give and take: be nice to others and (hopefully) they’ll be nice to you.

In time, your content  and marketing strategy (writing,  liking,  commenting, sharing and interacting) will get you followers and traffic. You’ve gained online visibility. This is a big step towards business growth and you have done it all by yourself. Congratulations!

Social Media Managers Don't Come Cheap

If you have a business you will probably have noticed that most businesses today have gone online. They have a website, they are active on Facebook and other social media networks but … and I emphasize BUT… their business has not grown and neither has their number of customers. Why is that?

As any Social Media Manager will tell you, it’s because these businesses have not hired a Social Media Manager. Most likely you don’t even know what a SMM is or does. Let me tell you.

A SMM is a professional networker. He has (maybe) completed a SMM course, for which he paid a lot of money, and is now an expert in Social Media management. He will tell you how to run your business online, or, rather, how he will run your business online.

First you need a website, then you need to join as many social networks as you can manage. No. Wait a minute. You cannot manage them. The Social Media Manager is the expert so he will run them for you, that’s why  you need to hire him.

He will start by giving you a Report (an analysis of where your business stands online). The Report is free but his services aren’t.

For $500 to $1000 a month (yes, that’s correct, per month) he will “manage” your social networks, that is, he will publish valuable content on your networks thus bringing in new clients to your business. Hopefully. If that doesn’t work, he will ask you more money so that he can run PAID ads on FB or wherever you want. Obviously you need to dish out more money. In other words, you pay the Social Media Manager for running your social networks, but he doesn’t bring in more customers so you have to give him more money for the ads. At this point you must be wondering if it wouldn’t be cheaper if you enrolled in a Social Media Manager course and run your social networks yourself.
