The famous
Italian music conductor Riccardo Muti recently made a controversial statement
during an interview carried out by the Roman newspaper Il Messaggero. Maestro
Muti said that there are too many cooking shows in Italy, too many cooks and
too much fuss on food. He added that Italians need stimulation for the brain,
that is, more artistic and intellectual programs. Moreover, the Maestro said whenever he
watches an Italian program he changes to foreign channels. He is right. Italian
TV shows are really pitiful, many foreigners living in Italy have been saying
that for years.
His point of
view is shared, among others, by the Italian showman Piero Chiambretti who some
time ago also said that there are too many cooking programs.
